Applying Through an Embassy or Consulate

Obtaining a tourist visa through an embassy requires two steps:

  1. Visa Support (Letter of Invitation – LOI) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan

  2. Applying for a visa at the Uzbekistan embassy or consulate

Uzbekistan Visa Support (LOI)

Visa support is an official permission allowing a tourist to apply for an Uzbekistan visa.

Process:

  • A licensed travel agency submits a Letter of Invitation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • The Ministry reviews the application within 7 working days

  • Approval is sent to the embassy via telex

  • The tourist receives a telex reference number

The Ministry has the right to refuse visa support without explanation.

Travel agencies (including tour operators) can assist with visa support services.

Visa Fees

After receiving visa support, the applicant must pay consular fees at the embassy.

Typical visa fees range from:

$40 – $200, depending on:

  • Citizenship

  • Duration of stay

Visa on Arrival

A visa on arrival at Tashkent International Airport may be granted if:

  • Your country does not have an Uzbekistan embassy, or

  • You do not have enough time to apply through an embassy

Required documents:

  • Passport

  • Return ticket

  • Visa fee (cash)

  • Visa support letter (if required)

If your country is eligible for an e-visa, applying online is strongly recommended.
